Once upon a time...

Posted by ♥ wiwi ♥ at 4:03 PM
It’s my sister-in-law wedding day. That’s why we spent most of the school holiday at Ranau. My SIL finally got married to her beloved fiancé. Congratulations to both of you!

‘May each new day find your hearts a little closer, your life a little fuller and your love a little deeper’

It made me want to write about my wedding ^_^ Weddings are one of the happiest days in a lifetime. I treasure my memories of those wonderful days.

My husband and I, and our family were trying to keep things simple. No expectations fostered by the images of weddings in bridal magazines. It’s just a joyous and meaningful celebration with families, relatives and friends.

Upacara Akad Nikah was performed by my Dad
at Masjid Negeri Sabah.

Malam Berinai at my house in Papar.

Majlis bersanding at Dewan Wisma Pertanian.

Interesting facts about my wedding:
  • My students came all the way from Tawau to witness their beloved teachers’ wedding. Thanks guys!
  • I didn’t wear contact lens so I was unable to recognize people ^_^
  • The sweet pink theme showed the sweet + cute side of my family members. Imagine having your uncles, aunties and cousins (and grandparents too!) wearing pink-coloured attire.
  • Thanks to my husband families and relatives who supported this event. There’s no such thing calls religion boundary!
  • My wedding dress was custom made (Try having a petite body and go dress fitting randomly… urgh!).
  • We didn’t have costume changing for photography sessions (and cutting of wedding cake too).
  • It’s great having a family that involved in wedding business. Easy to convey your vision. They know you well. You don’t have to feel shy. Plus, you get special offer ^_^ (Lovely pelamin by my cousin 'Kakak Sue' and also my uncle as Mr Photographer).
  • My Dad wrote a series of pantun especially for my wedding and they have been recited throughout the ceremony (talking about my Dad’s talent...).
  • I let my Mum make all the decisions related to catering and decorating and stuff (usually I’m very fussy with things, but I gave her my trust). It turned out amazing. You’re the best, Mum.
  • Thanks to my sister for sponsoring my facial treatment. The three of us went to the beauty centre for a facial which we really enjoyed; and it’s my FIRST time ever (but not for them surprisingly!).
  • Biggest regret… my grandmother didn’t have the chance to see me get married.

... and they live happily ever after.
