‘The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you will go.’
― Dr. Seuss

I recently bought books from GROLIER (MALYSIA) SDN BHD. I chose different series of reading materials that include encyclopedia, dictionary, activity book and short stories. GROLIER is an international company that provides products to help children read and learn. Taken from their website: ‘We are a leading provider of high-quality educational materials that provide parents and teachers with the tools they need to enlighten and support the educational development and well-being of all children.

Now these are the books that I have selected:

Grolier I Wonder Why 24 Vols
Grolier I Wonder Why CD 24 CDS
Disney Words Words Words 4 Vols
My Disney Encyclopedia 9 Vols
1000 Things 10 Vols
First Children Dictionary 2 Vols
Ripley Twists Slipcase Edition 4 Vols
Flip Quiz Science 1 Vol
Raise Your Child Self-Esteem 1 Vol
5/10 Minutes Stories 10 Vols
Discover The Extreme World 1 Vol

Imagine all the boxes that arrived to my house once I've made the payment ^_^

How much did that cost?
RM 3000. I've made Rm 360 deposit payment and the company delivered all the books to my house on the next day. I will then have to pay RM110 monthly installment for 2 years.

Was it worth it? 100% yes. I mean, you can never say no to knowledge. Besides, the books are in excellent quality and the contents satisfy me in every way.

My Workplace

Ever wonder how the workplace of a teacher looks like?
A teacher work environment needs to be kept clean and organized. A teacher should make her environment feel very welcoming. A teacher should also make the environment fun and exciting for the students.
In my case, it should be comfy too. That’s why I put a little personal touch to it ^_^

A close-up view.

My Love ^_^

Lots of Maths book for reference and teaching purpose.

I've got this interesting poster from Something Different. Sometimes, the students will drop by my place to do a simple yet fun activity using this poster. It is called Today's Advice.

Close your eyes.
Point your finger at the poster.
Do the advice your finger lands on.
No cheating.

Well, too much for a teacher's workplace, isn't it?

Once upon a time...

It’s my sister-in-law wedding day. That’s why we spent most of the school holiday at Ranau. My SIL finally got married to her beloved fiancĂ©. Congratulations to both of you!

‘May each new day find your hearts a little closer, your life a little fuller and your love a little deeper’

It made me want to write about my wedding ^_^ Weddings are one of the happiest days in a lifetime. I treasure my memories of those wonderful days.

My husband and I, and our family were trying to keep things simple. No expectations fostered by the images of weddings in bridal magazines. It’s just a joyous and meaningful celebration with families, relatives and friends.

Upacara Akad Nikah was performed by my Dad
at Masjid Negeri Sabah.

Malam Berinai at my house in Papar.

Majlis bersanding at Dewan Wisma Pertanian.

Interesting facts about my wedding:
  • My students came all the way from Tawau to witness their beloved teachers’ wedding. Thanks guys!
  • I didn’t wear contact lens so I was unable to recognize people ^_^
  • The sweet pink theme showed the sweet + cute side of my family members. Imagine having your uncles, aunties and cousins (and grandparents too!) wearing pink-coloured attire.
  • Thanks to my husband families and relatives who supported this event. There’s no such thing calls religion boundary!
  • My wedding dress was custom made (Try having a petite body and go dress fitting randomly… urgh!).
  • We didn’t have costume changing for photography sessions (and cutting of wedding cake too).
  • It’s great having a family that involved in wedding business. Easy to convey your vision. They know you well. You don’t have to feel shy. Plus, you get special offer ^_^ (Lovely pelamin by my cousin 'Kakak Sue' and also my uncle as Mr Photographer).
  • My Dad wrote a series of pantun especially for my wedding and they have been recited throughout the ceremony (talking about my Dad’s talent...).
  • I let my Mum make all the decisions related to catering and decorating and stuff (usually I’m very fussy with things, but I gave her my trust). It turned out amazing. You’re the best, Mum.
  • Thanks to my sister for sponsoring my facial treatment. The three of us went to the beauty centre for a facial which we really enjoyed; and it’s my FIRST time ever (but not for them surprisingly!).
  • Biggest regret… my grandmother didn’t have the chance to see me get married.
