My Dad's Poem

I want to share a poem originally written by my father. He's a very talented writer and I've been reading his works throughout my life. My father enjoys sharing his works, experiences and thoughts in his own blog. This is probably one of my favourite. It is brilliant, honest, inspiring, and more importantly, it motivates me to be a better teacher.

Dia insan agung

dia terpekik terlolong

tapi dia bukan hantu polong

dia bukan juga ah long

dia cuma nak tolong

membebas katak bawah tempurung

Dia yang teragung

sewaktu aku setahun jagung

dia tempat aku berlindung

dinginku dipakai kain sarung

panasku dipayung

demamku digendong

nangisku dihulur anak patung

kalaku bingung, dia hulur kain telekung

Dia maha agung

semua ilmu diajar borong

dia tidak pandai kelentong

walau bercakap ibarat pengulas siaran langsung

dia tidak mahu aku bagai tin kosong

dia mahu aku umpama gong

mengiringi persembahan Mak Yong

di persada Balai Rong

Dia guru agung

pintanya tiap kali bertembung

katanya menuntut ilmu itu ibarat kita menabung

umpama emas, hari ini simpan esok-esok tinggi melambung

mahunya aku menjadi, bukan setakat ikan basung

 tetapi katanya sebesar ikan jerung

bukan sekadar menanam sebatas sayur kangkung
tetapi menanam padi huma beribu relung

Meet Keichi The Menace

There is a new wabbit in the house!

It’s about time you introduce me here.

A male lionhead wabbit ^_^ We got him on 25th December 2011 at Gaya Street Fair. This little wabbit has a mane of wool encircling his head (just like a lion). I vowed not to buy any more wabbit but I just can't resist this one. He's a total cutie! I named him Keichi because of his small size.

We had him for almost 6 weeks already. His bad habit - CHEWING things! He likes to act sad so that we can get him out of his cage. But once he's outside, he starts running and chewing everything he can find. I nearly fainted when he chewed my student's homework.
